To assist you with your selection, particularly when there is a choice of tools that appear to be similar, I have attempted to oganise the apps according to a number of categories. Glogster Edu enables users to create and share glogs - online interactive posters that can be made up of text, graphics, photos, music, and video and links to external websites. Glogs are great for combining a number of resources in the one place. Glogster can also be used on iPads and tablets.
More information about the range of things you can do with a glog can be found at this link.  out some of these French examples. Note: Glogster Edu is hosted separately from the commercial version of Glogster thereby preventing student access to Glogs created by other people that contain questionable content.

Padlet is a virtual wall that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily. It works like an online sheet of paper where people can put any content (e.g. images, videos, URLs, documents, text) anywhere on the page. 
Padlet is also a great collaborative tools as groups of students can add content to a Padlet wall from anywhere and from any device - Apple or Android.

ThingLink is a tool for creating interactive images that help students develop 21st century skills. Images can include music, video, sound, text and more. You can use ThingLink with any image (photo, webpage, map etc) and add a text (URL, short description of up to 1,500 characters) sound file or video link. As well as the online version, ThingLink can also be used on iPads and tablets.
