Web links (English)

Some of these sites are English only or you can toggle between English and French. Remember that apart from the official guides, the English may be a little hard to follow.

Réunion: l’île intense

The official site of the Réunion Tourism Board. Excellent site. It contains general information about the island (history, geography, flora, fauna, climate, population) what’s happening on the island, a practical guide for tourists, how to get there, where to stay and a virtual visit.

Lonely planet guide

As can be expected from a lonely planet guide, this is a good site for travellers and full of factual information.

Welcome to Réunion Island

This is Jean-Michel Regnier’s home page. You can read it in French or English (he writes French much better than he writes English!) He has lots of pages that I’m sure you’d find useful and links to other web sites.

Onyx Travel: Réunion

This travel guide summarises Réunion for British would be tourists.

Volcanic observatory

Good site for specialist information on the Piton de la Fournaise volcano.

Travel to Réunion Island

A tour company with information on the key attractions. Brief information also on flora, fauna, vanilla, sugar cane & geranium industries.
